EXPERT-LED CONSERVATION COURSES

What is our suggested learning journey through our courses?

OUR COURSES ARE FOR EVERYONE

There are no prerequisites for taking part in our training courses. You do not need a bachelor's degree, master's, or PhD to take one of our courses. Our courses are expert-led conservation courses for experienced conservationists, students, and career switchers.

If you are unsure about which conservation course to take, here is an overview of each to help you decide:

WHICH COURSE SHOULD I CHOOSE?

PROJECT MANAGEMENT FOR WILDLIFE CONSERVATION

This course equips you with the skills to effectively organise and manage any type of conservation project. It provides the framework to applying all our other approaches, such as stakeholder engagement and project planning.

STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT FOR WILDLIFE CONSERVATION

Delve into the stakeholder engagement approach, vital for the success of any conservation project. This course teaches you how to effectively involve, build relationships with, and communicate with various stakeholders, a skill that enhances and informs all other aspects of conservation work, particularly project planning, monitoring and evaluation, and grant writing.

PROJECT PLANNING FOR WILDLIFE CONSERVATION

This course focuses on the approach of strategic project planning. It builds on the understanding and insights gained from stakeholders, guiding you in devising effective, evidence-based conservation strategies that are developed and supported together with key actors. The skills acquired are essential for developing a plan that lays the foundation for creating and implementing a monitoring and evaluation strategy.

MONITORING AND EVALUATION FOR WILDLIFE CONSERVATION

Explore the approach of monitoring and evaluation, key to assessing the success of conservation projects. This course helps you understand how to effectively measure the direct and indirect impact of a conservation project. This provides the essential feedback loop needed to help refine strategies and show, in grant applications, how a project will deliver a measurable change.

GRANT WRITING FOR WILDLIFE CONSERVATION

The grant writing approach is the focus of this course. It capitalises on the knowledge and data acquired through stakeholder engagement, project planning, and monitoring and evaluation. This course teaches you how to articulate your project's success and needs effectively, securing necessary funding for ongoing and future conservation efforts.

ARE THESE TRAINING COURSES RIGHT FOR ME?

There are no prerequisites for taking this training. You do not need a degree, masters, or PhD, to take one of our courses.

IF YOU ARE AN EXPERIENCED PRACTITIONER

You may already have some of these skills already, but our training will help you strengthen those skills and ensure that you and your team work much more effectively. When you then apply your new skills and achieve more conservation impact then you will become more valued by your organisation. Likewise, with a certified conservation skill set, you will also be able to demonstrate to your organisation that you are ready to take on more responsibility. By connecting with other conservationists from around the world, you will build your professional network, enabling you to build partnerships that can raise more funds and achieve more impact together.

IF YOU ARE A STUDENT

Our courses will provide you with a certified skill that you can put on your C.V. to make you stand out from other conservation job applicants. It also means that when you get your first conservation job you can hit the ground running. By connecting with other conservationists taking a course you may find additional job opportunities to apply for.

IF YOU ARE WANTING TO SWITCH CAREERS

If you are looking to enter the conservation sector, one of these courses will provide you with a recognised certificate in a key wildlife conservation skill to complement the skills and experience you bring from your current sector. By connecting with other conservationists from around the world, you will get to build relationships with those already working in the conservation sector. Your new connections may help you find opportunities to start working in the conservation sector.

WHAT WILL MY TRAINING EXPERIENCE BE LIKE?

All our online training courses are 4-6 weeks long and involve 3-4 hours of learning a week. The learning is made up of video tutorials and live, expert-led group sessions.

Our training courses are designed to create a stimulating, inclusive, and fun learning environment, so that you can learn at your own pace and in your own way. For example, if you like to chat and get involved in all the live sessions, then that's exactly what you can do. Or if you want to focus more on learning from the video tutorials, then that's OK too.
